Emerging chiral optics from chiral interfaces

Twisted atomic bilayers are emerging platforms for manipulating chiral light-matter interaction at the extreme nanoscale, due to their inherent magnetoelectric responses induced by finite twist angle and quantum interlayer coupling between layers. Recent studies have reported direct correspondence twisted metasurfaces, which features a surface conductivity, in addition electric magnetic conductivities. However, far-field optics light of these constitutive conductivities remains unexplored. Within framework full Maxwell equations, we find that conductivity can be exploited realize perfect polarization transformation linearly polarized light. Remarkably, such an exotic phenomenon occur either reflected or transmitted Moreover, reveal all through judiciously designed always different from incident light, irrespective angle.
